Taffy the Collie Colored Ridgeback

Ms Taffy is one of the dogs I rescued and rehomed. Bless her heart, she has a bad case of "kennelosis" - meaning she was never socialized or taken anywhere except the vet's office and lived her early life outside in a pen. Strange things - anything other than what she knows - scares her.

I kept her for 8 months before I made any headway in getting her to be a somewhat normal dog. It took another 8 months for her to start to settle in her new home with the Romanos.

However, if they go on vacation, have work done on their home, etc, Taffy comes to stay here where she'll be happy as a clam to play with Guy and chase the squirrels in the backyard.
She's an unusual color for a Ridgeback. She shows her Collie ancestry in her distinctive coloration. I used her as my example of the Collie coloration on my Odd Colored RRs page.

Guy, on the other hand, displays normal RR wheaten color.... with a bit of dappling courtesy of sunlight filtering through the trees.

About This Blog

Originally, this was a place to tell you my news. Then I got a new camera and it became a way to see how we live here at Kalahari Rhodesian Ridgebacks - the fun things, the everyday things and even the humdrum things.

It's just home. I'm glad you stopped by and come again!
