Tortoise Jousting

I was out doing my daily walks around the yard, when the dogs pointed out something interesting on the other side of the fence. It was two tortoises and one was upside down on it's back. So, I reached through and set it right side up, then continued my walk thinking I'd get the camera and take photos on the next round.

The next time I came around, one of the tortoises was standing on end... apparently tipped up by the other one. I thought at first it was a male and female, but now I realize it's two males jousting! I decided to let them settle their "king of the hill" battle without human intervention.

First photo is after I had righted the upside down one, got the camera and came back... apparently they had battled again and the nearest one is standing "on end". The "victor" is stalking off and I righted that one again.

About This Blog

Originally, this was a place to tell you my news. Then I got a new camera and it became a way to see how we live here at Kalahari Rhodesian Ridgebacks - the fun things, the everyday things and even the humdrum things.

It's just home. I'm glad you stopped by and come again!
