We have a new Champion!

Her name is now officially - Ch Kalahari Zarina Maleka! Darla finished
by going Best of Winners on Sat at the Jackson, MS shows. Thank goodness the points in dogs held!

Mr Guy was entertaining... or maybe irritating... probably closer to the latter than the former, but he had a GREAT time! Ah, well, it's all a matter of growing up and getting his head on straight. He did his part
by helping to hold the points - brilliantly!

Busy week ahead!

Today, I'm off to the Jackson,MS shows with Guy and Darla.. She just needs a major to finish... naturally, there is only 2 points in bitches, but a major in dogs. If she manages WB, then she'll have to get Best of Winners for the major. Keep your fingers crossed!

Sizzle finally came in season... in the midst of all this. We are going to the clinic on Monday to do the blood test and possibly leave her for the insemination.

Everything always happens at once!

Five Flags Agility Trial

Diva and Darla both got a leg on Saturday... Diva her first leg in Novice Jumpers Preferred and Darla her second Novice Jumpers leg.

Sunday was a bust for us... I intended to run the course one way and let myself get talked into another for Darla... should have known better... she always jumps too big on the first jump.. wound up going around the second jump and back jumping... an automatic bust... but got her going and she was speeding around the rest of the course perfectly... hit her weaves perfect... oh, well, other than that bobble on the start, she was brilliant!

With Diva, I decided to run the course my original way... she was flying.. hit the weaves perfect.. I had done a front cross after the weaves with Darla.. planned that with Diva.. but she was going so fast she was already on her way to the next jump when I got to the end of the poles..Yikes! So I went for a back cross.. would have been good, but tunnel vortex syndrome got her... since she came out of the tunnel a good way from the jump, she built up too much speed and clipped a bar... automatic NQ.

The course time was 37 seconds... even though Diva went through the tunnel twice (quickly detoured to visit 2 bar setters, too)... she finished the course in 32 seconds! She was smoking!!!

About This Blog

Originally, this was a place to tell you my news. Then I got a new camera and it became a way to see how we live here at Kalahari Rhodesian Ridgebacks - the fun things, the everyday things and even the humdrum things.

It's just home. I'm glad you stopped by and come again!
